Mizensir – Alberto Morillas

After decades of unwavering passion for the craft of perfumery, Alberto’s ideas continue to stand out. His extraordinary journey is alive in his intricately designed, legendary body of creations. It is certainly no surprise that Master Perfumer Alberto Morillas is the very first perfumer in history to receive the Fragrance Foundation’s esteemed Lifetime Achievement Award. His life-long partnership with research and development chemists and encyclopedic knowledge of perfume history allow him to fuse innovative natural techniques with breakthrough synthetic molecules, many of which he helped bring to patent, to create true works of art. Humbly, he notes that he still has doubts. “Even when we’ve learned everything there is to know, there is always doubt. A formula is like a well-written sentence: there are thousands of beautiful words from which to choose, but what makes it impactful, is the emotion with which they are brought together.” Raised in Seville, Alberto was encouraged to develop and explore his inquisitive nature. His chic, refined parents were always elegantly dressed. The patio of his childhood home captured scents like a fragrance bottle. Young Alberto would revel in the scents of the well, of medlar trees, clean laundry and jasmine from their lush, beautiful garden. At the epicenter of his holidays was the ocean. Memories of sea breezes, the unforgettable smell of the Atlantic, and the mysterious secrets of the sea still move him. With a smile on his face, Alberto recalls a time when he spent his vacation in a phone booth in order to stay up to date on an important project. He sent his children to buy candy, using the change from their purchases to extend the call as time ran out. Alberto’s three children, now grown, have chosen different career paths than their father’s despite their inherited olfactive gift. “You must have an innate passion for creation. It’s a calling. You have to love it, love it, and… love it.” While Alberto’s heart belongs to Andalusia, his life’s work brought him to Geneva, where his desk sits in the middle of his laboratory. As a young man, he had a revelation that behind every fragrance is a designer. “If a fashion designer couldn’t touch and experience the fabric with his hands, it would be… unthinkable.” Much of his inspiration comes from being surrounded by his ingredients, and he couldn’t imagine doing it any other way. Having always looked to the future, “maybe too much! ”, he admits that he doesn’t get much sleep. There’s too much to do, too much inspiration to gather, from strolling through his beloved garden with a freshly brewed cup of coffee in hand, to observing tigers in India. Nothing stops a true creative mind, not even the day’s end.

Hermes Parfums GB – Christine Nagel

Christine Nagel stands as one of the most influential figures in contemporary perfumery, embodying a balance of scientific skill,French elegance, and Mediterranean warmth. Her creative identity is defined by harmony, a unique ability to story tell through ingredients and an unwavering curiosity for scent. Geneva-born, without exposure to the inherited traditions of Grasse, as is the case with many other perfumers, her path to fragrance began through science. She studied organic chemistry at the University of Geneva before joining the research department of Firmenich, where she developed a deep understanding of aromatic raw materials at molecular level through chromatography. This rigorous analytical training proved to be foundational and ignited her vocation as a perfumer. In the late 1980s, she was appointed to Créations Aromatiques in Geneva, where she established and led the chromatography department. Under the eye of her mentor, perfumer Michel Almairac, she created her first fragrances that were received to critical acclaim, refining both her technical mastery and creative voice. In 1997,Christine Nagel was invited to Paris by Quest International, a renowned fragrance manufacturer. Christine’s distinctive style emerged, attracting the attention of Geneva-based Givaudan, a leader for fine perfumes. Returning to her Swiss roots and guided by a profound appreciation for both natural and synthetic raw materials, her reputation quickly gained international recognition. Her next appointment to succeed legendary perfumer and CEO Pierre Bourdon at Fragrance Resources marked a decisive moment in her career. Embracing an environment that encouraged boldness and creative freedom, she spent three years in focused exploration, further establishing herself as a pioneering and independent perfumer. In 2011,Christine Nagel was named Creative Director at international perfumer Mane, with responsibility for the company’s perfumery school. As her work continued to garner praise,Christine Nagel aspired to become an in-house perfumer. One house alone resonated with her vision and values: Hermès. In 2014, she joined Hermès Parfums as exclusive Creator-Perfumer, and in 2016 she assumed responsibility for creation and the olfactory heritage of the house. Over the past decade,Christine has built out a wealth of iconic fragrances for Hermès, new pillars & expressions of scent that have been industry defining.
Vyrao – Yasmin Sewell

Yasmin Sewell’s two-decade career as a trend forecaster and creative director – including roles at Browns and Liberty – has established her as one of the most sought-after contemporary tastemakers.
Alongside this, Sewell undertook extensive training in holistic practices and energetic medicine, from Ayurveda to Reiki. In 2019, driven by her belief that energy is everything, she brought this combined expertise to fragrance, and in 2021, Vyrao was born.
Vyrao’s mood-boosting fragrances draw on master perfumery and neuroscience to create multisensorial experiences that enhance emotional and energetic wellbeing. The brand has built an international following, expanding the global conversation around beauty and wellness.
Sewell is widely recognised as the pioneer of a new fragrance category. In 2025, the Vyrao founder was named a Beauty Disruptor by the Vogue Business 100 Innovators and invited to speak at The Business of Beauty Global Forum in Napa Valley, California, in conversation with Business of Fashion founder Imran Amed. As Wallpaper’s Mary Cleary notes, “Yasmin Sewell has made a career out of hitting on trends before they become trends, and this latest launch seems poised to follow the same trajectory.”
Escentric Molecules – Geza Schoen

Geza Schoen was born on 2 March 1969 in Kassel, Germany. By the age of 16, he could distinguish between over 100 fragrances. “I started collecting samples of men’s fragrances, and that was it. After that, there was nothing for me but perfume–and football.”After completing his education, he worked for the celebrated Haarmann & Reimer (now Symrise) for 12 years.
Growing increasingly frustrated with the industry’s corporate constraints, Schoen left to pursue a more independent path. In London, he collaborated with designers Brian Kirkby and Zowie Broach of Boudicca, co-creating their fiercely individual fragrance, Wode. Schoen’s discovery of the expressive potential of Iso E Super led to a radical proposition:two gender-free fragrances, one built around an unprecedented 65% concentration of the molecule, the other composed entirely of it. Intended for “the artists, the freaks, the arcane,” the idea instead sparked a global minimalist movement and the creation of Escentric Molecules, now celebrating its 20-year anniversary.
Geza Schoen should be recognised as Icon of the Year for fundamentally changing the language of modern perfumery. By stripping fragrance back to its molecular core, he challenged tradition, reshaped consumer perception, and expanded scent into culture, art and identity, leaving a legacy that continues to influence the industry worldwide
