Hakuna Matata is a bold and vibrant fragrance that defies convention. With a playful soul and a carefree heart, it is a celebration of all that is unexpected and uncertain. “The current state of global affairs can be overwhelming at times,” says Romy Kowalewski, Founder and Creative Director at 27 87. “As an antidote, I’ve felt an instinctual pull toward simplicity, an unburdened presence, and basic joy. Practicing optimism and mental resilience is more important than ever right now. This scent supports us in that. [PARA] The central ingredient, banana, gives Hakuna Matata its unconventional character, while rich floral notes and sensual honey add a layer of sophistication. This modern fruity-floral, honey-amber composition is enhanced by an abstract accord of four exclusive Givaudan captives: 1: SYLKOLIDE A bright and sensuous captive musk, used here at its highest dose. It’s skin-like and captures velvety raspberry nuance from top note to background. 3: TANAISONE Aromatic and green astringent note reminiscent of absinth and chrysanthemum leaves. Summer 25 imagines long midsummer sunsets, painted with sparkling pink grapefruit, golden turmeric, blood orange and white peach water – and for the first time, herbaceous marigold, the sunset-coloured flower. [PARA] The scent opens with citrusy pink grapefruit and sun-warmed blood orange, before blooming into the fresh, herbaceous scent of marigold. A heart of golden turmeric adds richness, while creamy white peach water brings softness and luminosity. [PARA] Inspired by the golden hour, the fragrance captures the last glimmers of light as the sun dips below the horizon, illuminating the sky with fiery hues.
